Myers, Fla. 33905 The Honorable Oscar Corbin Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce City Hill Main and Heitman Ft. Myers, Fla. 33901 December 20, 1967 Dear Mayor Corbin: Daring the past several weeks I have had my secretary call the city officials to determine if the city ordinance curfew time would be extended until 2:00 A.M. on New Year's Eve in the place of the normal 12:00 Midnight. I apologize for using this system as I feel there may be a mis-understanding between the recreational program here at Gold Crown Lanes and the normal operation of a local bear and it did not provide ,you with sufficient explanation to extend this courtesy. Gold Crown Lanes is a twenty-four (24•) lane bowling establishment located in the Fort Myers Shopping Center and it is owned by B & B Cash Grocery Stores, Incorporated. In the pasty each New Year's Eve we have provided a recreational program for approximately one -hundred (100) adult individuals to enjoy the coming of the New Year, strictly on a closed house and by reservation only and the refreshments served contribute considerably to the success of this program. This establishment houses approximately a one-half million dollar business and due to the abundance of bowling lanes in this area it is very vital that these programs be successful to continue this recreational program for the people in the City of Fort Myers. During the course of the evening , we have bowling contests, costume prizes, and at approximately 1:00 A.M. we serve a ham and eggs breakfast (with plenty of coffee) on an "all you can eat" basis which is included in the price of the recreational program. At the present time I. have ninety-six (96) reservations which include,'twelve (12) from the Port Charlotte area. If this courtesy is not extended, there is a possibility that I can loose approximately a $500.00 operation to my competitor who is at the edge of the city limits and other lanes within driving distance which does have an approved extended time limit. Approximately $150.00 to $200.00 of these prize monies is the local merchant's share of the supplies used to support this recreational program. I would appreciate it very much if you would consider extending the time for at least one (1) hour, preferably two (2), on December 31, 1967, New Year's Eve on the following basis:
